The Craft Bar at the Salisbury Arms

31-35 Endless St, Salisbury SP1 1DP, UK – 01722 411700

Great cocktails and deals during the week. Renovation during May 2018, a source close to the project says they'll be open; check the website.

Great welcome ,friendly staff ,good food and good drinks.

The Cathedral Hotel

7-9, Milford St, Salisbury SP1 2AJ, UK – 01722 343700

Friday night music club I visited at this hotel and it was very nice. Modern music and last hits played. Big dance floor , plenty of space. At the bar service was quite quick. Choice of few beers and lagers. Not bad , not bad at all.

Not actually bad - staff were pleasant and breakfast was good, beds were comfy. But noisy at night, due to nightclub on ground floor (especially Saturday) and lots of street noise (not the hotel's fault but there nevertheless). Could be in better repair, lock and toilet roll holder broken in bathroom, pulley for overhead fan etc

The Old Castle Harvester

Old Castle Rd, Salisbury SP1 3SF, UK – 01722 328703

Not the best Harvester by serves it's purpose. The food we had to a good standard and the portion sizes were good for the children's menu. When I go for a meal I don't just expect good food though as your also want a good experience especially in such a competitive market. This Harvester is in real need of a refurbishment as it's guide old and tired now. The toilets and decor are dated. Though the toilets were clean, they need updating as the toilets aren't very pleasant. We asked for some children's colouring crayons and were told at first that they no longer offered this which was very odd as they market themselves as a children friendly restaurant and this is pretty standard practice for other similar restaurants. The waitress then said she would just double check. When she came back she said that they do still offer crayons and colouring pads etc but you now have to pay £1 to their charity??? I don't begrudge giving money to charity but don't expect to have to pay for this as there's no form of free children's entertainment within the indoor premises. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here but if passing by and in a rush then a good option for food. Staff very friendly and polite.

I went for breakfast here and was very impressed. Catering for all including children. Its an all you can eat but not a buffet style. You order what you want to start with, then when you want more you just call the waitress over and ask. If you pay for a full version you get access to the continental breakfast cart and then there is unlimited juice (apple, orange or cranberry) plus tea/coffee and fizzy drinks (Pepsi not coke). For £8.95 it's a bargain with nicely cooked food.

36 Blue Boar Row, Salisbury SP1 1DA, UK – 01722 334570

Good food. Friendly staff. Had a good breakfast for 2 last Saturday. The pancakes had less fruit with them than I'd expect though. Otherwise, look forward to my next meal there.

This place looks comfortable and unassuming, but the food was fantastic. Everything we had was above expectations, and the service was prompt and friendly. It was the most pleasant and satisfying meal experience I've had in a long time!

18 Queen St, Salisbury SP1 1EY, UK – 01722 442222

My first meal was great. I had a cheeseburger which was brilliant, bit I went back the second day and had piri piri chicken and got a very small portion of chicken that was overdone. Would still recommend while in Salisbury.

Delicious food, good service and a really nice restaurant to eat in and have fun.

Anokaa Restaurant

60 Fisherton St, Salisbury SP2 7RB, UK – 01722 414142

Incredible food with a cacophony of favors! Not a true Indian restaurant, but rather a fusion Indian restaurant. It does not disappoint. Exquisite preparation and well prepared dishes. Went twice and both times was impressed. The staff were attentive and helpful in making selections. A must if you find yourself in Salisbury!

Best Indian restaurant I have been to. They do traditional dishes and there own specialities. The staff are great. Not much waiting for food either. Last time I went in they had a magician. It's very popular so book beforehand.

Chinese Restaurants serving the Salisbury area

The Dragon

17-19 Fisherton St, Salisbury SP2 7SU, UK – 01722 321399

Went here for a buffet dinner in the evening for the price it was great and who doesn't love Chinese food.

All you can eat lunch buffet. Tasted good and unlimited portions! Helpful staff.

Noodle Camp

39 Catherine St, Salisbury SP1 2DH, UK – 01722 326063

Nice food, brilliant services! The owner/staff was so kind that a disabled customer was being treated to a beverage for free, that prompted me to pay for his bill even though it’s only a meagre amount of money. Please do keep up the good world and the world needs more people like you :).

Good no nonsense Asian food. Portions are generous. Priced very well too. Seating mostly on benches, some tables. Bar available, also takeaway. Highly recommended.

102 Fisherton St, Salisbury SP2 7QY, UK – 01722 328572

The best chinese in salisbury amazing service and food. They remember or make the effort to remember you're name xx

The chicken satay was amazing, extra spicy as requested. Charlie and the gang know how-to cook good food. Thanks to all.

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Salisbury

The Shah Jahan

111-113 S Western Rd, Salisbury SP2 7RR, UK – 01722 328120

It's a very lovely place, with friendly staff members and delicious food. Was visiting Salisbury and my Indian friend took me out there for dinner, because in his opinion that's the best Indian restaurant there, that serves most authentic dishes than other places. Definitely worth giving this place a go if you're in the area.

My favourite Indian Take-away. Quality food at reasonable prices. My family and I also visited the Shah Jahan for our Christmas Day mid-day meal which was brilliant. Highly recommended.

Bangla Lounge

140 Fisherton St, Salisbury SP2 7QT, UK – 01722 334795

We come here 7 or 8 times a year. Great food, loads of options for meat eaters and vegetarians and friendly staff. The food can sometimes take a little longer, but with BYOB and a great atmosphere, it's never been an issue! Definitely worth a visit, but make sure to book at the weekend!

Bring your own drinks policy. However i found the food expensive and quality rather average. Great value if you intend to drink plenty, not so much if you are driving! Food took over an hour, i understand we were a group of 8, but the rest of the place was almost empty. Saw a lot of "just eat" deliveries going out, clearly they took priority.

Cafe Diwali

Crane House, 90 Crane St, Salisbury SP1 2QD, UK – 01722 329700

Wonderful food. Big portions. Great value. Our lunch for 4, including drinks, starter and main (pudding is included in the Thali platter) plus a couple of sides, was £25 per person. The food was absolutely wonderful. We went on a hot Sunday, not your usual Sunday lunch but absolutely fantastic alternative. A must visit restaurant. Have been a few times now and they never disappoint.

Delicious curries & accompaniments to suit both meat eaters & vegetarians / vegans. Can accommodate small & large groups. Plenty of space inside including a conservatory & beautifully kept garden seating area with some shade. Friendly service staff with good knowledge of the food & portion sizes.

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Zizzi Salisbury

1/3 Castle St, Salisbury SP1 1TT, UK – 01722 237474

Very good food and great service! However wouldn't suggest staying if they sit you down next to a Russain family, for your health and theirs.

Good food, but got poisoned. Would not recommend

Prezzo Salisbury

52 High St, Salisbury SP1 2PF, UK – 01722 341333

Update: 25 February 2018 I visited Prezzo in the high street, Salisbury again (I'm British but live in Texas USA so don't get to visit often). The food was delicious. Everything is freshly made and so tasty. The service is wonderful. Diana, our waitress, was great to work with, she's friendly, fun and offers the exact amount of attention, just occasionally checking on your needs. The food and staff make this restaurant my parents go to place to eat out, and definitely mine when I visit the UK. 2017: Great food and relaxed atmosphere

The food is great. Atmosphere relaxing and the staff are fantastic. Diana worked with us on my last visit in February 2018, she is so knowledgeable and caring. Thank you for a great experience.

68 Castle St, Salisbury SP1 3TS, UK – 01722 324350

Interesting and innovative menu. Prices similar to other Italian restaurants in the town - so not cheap but good value as portions were large. Was with a group of eight and speed of service was excellent. Excellent staff and good house wine.

I was visiting Salisbury for work and my colleagues recommended the food here, and I was not disappointed! The staff are attentive and friendly, the food is absolutely delicious, and it’s not too expensive either! I highly recommend the profiteroles, they were heavenly!

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Koh Thai

4A Endless St, Salisbury SP1 1DL, UK – 01722 328216

I went with my wife and mother. It was lovely food that we couldn't fault. The waitress even kindly advised us that she thought we had ordered too many starters .. she was correct as we deleted two and still had enough ! The service timing was spot on and the staff very efficient. I would say that the only downside was the music, it was far too loud for us and especially my elderly mother, we got used to it but conversation wasn't always easy. We would be tempted to go there again.

Superb service, the tastiest food ever and even though I added extras to a curry it was no problem at all. Thank you

Giggling Squid

32 Market Walk, Salisbury SP1 1TL, UK – 01722 341871

Where to begin! Beautiful food, well presented and the venue itself is quirky, modernistic and very pleasant. Cocktails are a little expensive when weighing up the amount of alcohol v shaved ice... but aside from that food is good quality so worth a little extra money. Waiting staff are really friendly. They even let me have a little takeaway pot as I was defeated!

Had our first ever visit to a giggling squid whilst staying in Salisbury. Could not fault the food atall, it was so so good and tasty, although quite pricey. Only thing that let it down which is the only reason I rate 3* was the waitress that served us was rude, and unhelpful when asked to help with something on the menu. It was not a busy period of the evening at 5pm and there were only a few of us dining, her service was not great but don't let this put you off, as I'm sure not all staff are like that and it's well worth a visit for the food.

90 Fisherton St, Salisbury SP2 7QY, UK – 01722 327628

Came across this delightful restaurant on a girls weekend away in Salisbury. Very attentive staff and great selection of food. We shared starters and mains so we were able to taste a good selection of dishes and they were delicious, especially the lamb.

Lebanese restaurant serving the usual middle eastern dishes. Large portions well presented especially the shared plates for 2. Food was very tasty and well cooked with lovely service throughout. The only downfall was we had to wait over 45 mins for our initial cocktails to arrive. We were a large group, however all it took was communication informing us why it was taking so long rather than us having to keep asking. They did rectify this by offering us the cocktails complimentary which was nice of them to do. Only missing 5 stars purely because of the lack of communication on this. Don’t shy away to inform regardless the message. Lovely staff and great food - strongly recommended! :-)

Good local bar. Well stocked spirits with some interesting gins. Food is basic. Bar staff professional.

We've been going to this place since it was Café Prague ways back when. Best burgers and wings in town. The end.

The Vestry Bar

32 Milford St, Salisbury SP1 2AP, UK – 01722 504255

Only been here once but the atmosphere was nice, quite loud so good for parties. Drink prices were ok and service quick.

Nice place
