Hotels

Best Western Red Lion Hotel

Milford St, Salisbury SP1 2AN, UK – 0844 387 6033

Lovely hotel with the most amazing staff! The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay special. The food was excellent. Within walking distance of the cinema, shops, parks, Cathedral. Beautiful courtyard. Car parking right next door or secure parking in the hotel, although you have to be a good driver as spaces are small. Highly recommend this hotel

Enjoyed the 3 day stay at the hotel. Room was comfortable and the lounge/restaurant had good food - great sticky toffee pudding. Room was a little warm at times, but windows opened a bit to help bring in the breeze.

Grasmere House Hotel

70 Harnham Road, Salisbury SP2 8JN, UK – 01722 338388

Very nice hotel with close proximity to the town centre with an easy 10 minute walk to the shops. Room was decently sized with the beds being very comfortable. The whole building tended to be incredibly hot and meant we had to leave the windows open overnight. Bathroom was modern and had a bath and shower which worked very well. The main thing that let the hotel down was the breakfast (which was included in the price which is nice) it was a decent breakfast but was a bit cold and the staff could've maybe not stared at us the entire meal. Overall a decent hotel with nice rooms and views but breakfast was average.

Lovely place. Really helpful staff. Very clean and well maintained

Premier Inn Salisbury

Pearce Way, Salisbury SP1 3GU, UK – 0871 527 8956

Excellent stay. Room was well kitted out and spotless. Shower was one of the most powerful I have had the pleasure of using. We will definitely use this hotel again. We were in the separate annex which did look newer than the main building. Breakfast was in the pub next door and was spot on, only criticism was that the buffet breakfast was a little cold but that seems to be normal wherever I go. Toasters were as slow as watching paint dry! Would of preferred a fresh hot water supply for my cup of tea rather than a flask.

Excellent safe parking and a very nice room. The restaurant next door apparently has a decent breakfast. However, I believe the dinner sucks...going by most of the other reviews. I think their are much better options in Salisbury for dinner.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Boathouse

Mill Stream Approach, Castle Str, Wiltshire, Salisbury SP1 3TA, UK – 01722 414782

Lovely place to eat...nice patio outside. Staff friendly and accommodating of our children. Reasonably priced....bit of a wait for food but no-one minds that when it's cooked to order :-)

It does the job, if you are waiting for a National Express Coach; a perfect rest spot. If you have just got to Salisbury after 8pm when the rest rooms are closed at the coach stop & hungry, just the place before you go exploring

The Wig and Quill

1 New St, Salisbury SP1 2PH, UK – 01722 335665

We live in Salisbury we keep going to fancy restaurants and paying good money for rubbish food.... seriously the one of the nicest meals I've had in ages at the wig and quill... And the staff could not be nicer....oh don't let the resonable price put u off...good food good price lovely place to be great garden to ...thanks guys

The staff here are very friendly. It is a great little pub to pop in to for a quick drink or a bite to eat. The menu options are good. There is an outdoor garden area which is not massive, but perfectly adequate. They do not have their own parking but there is a public carpark opposite.

The Old Ale and Coffee House

80 Crane St, Salisbury SP1 2QD, UK – 01722 410541

I have to say that the food was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and as far as pub food goes it is definitely above the average. The atmosphere at the pub was good as well, not too noisy. The place was also clean and the staff was friendly. The table service at the front was a bit lacking, they seemed to be paying more attention to the clients in their beer garden. I'd say the positives outweigh this negative point and I still think they deserve the 5 stars.

Friendly local pub. Plenty of inside seating & relaxed outside garden area to enjoy afternoon tea or lunch. Great for meeting friends or family. Nothing was too much trouble from the staff.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Wyndham Park Lodge

51 Wyndham Rd, Salisbury SP1 3AB, UK – 01722 328851

Very comfortable family room and beds. Very clean. Lovely hosts who provided a delicious, brilliant breakfast with homemade jams and yogurt. An easy walk to town centre. Would definitely return.

Location is great since Salisbury is small and everything is walking distance. Rooms were big. Hot showers with provided shampoo and conditioner. Complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, hot chocolate and even cup-a-soup. Sparkling water is also included. Breakfast is cooked and served by the owner Suzanne. It was so delicious! She makes homemade marmalade! Suzanne also welcomed us when we entered with such a happy warm greeting. Highly recommend. We immediately felt at home. S

The White Lodge

68 London Rd, Salisbury SP1 3EX, UK – 01722 327991

The White Lodge is a fantastic place to stay for the price. You get a private room, but there is a shared bath. Which is fine since they keep the bathroom spotless. Pretty good location, only about a 10-15 minute walk to the town center. And Terry (the owner) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Just make sure you bring cash, as they do not accept card.

Very friendly owner and good breakfast

Victoria Lodge

61 Castle Rd, Salisbury SP1 3RH, UK – 01722 320586

Its a typical guest house in the uk. Food is ok and amenities are ok but its anything special. Reasonable location within walking distance to town

It's easy to find with sufficient parking. The reception staff is friendly and knowledgeable regarding the Salisbury area. Our room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator so prepare to lug your baggage. The room was smallish for 3 people to sleep in and was a bit warm for the single bed sleeper. Breakfast was fine options were typical of a B&B. It was 15 minute walk to the town center and a few more minutes from the Cathedral.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Staff could not be more helpful and the dog had a glorious time n Hudsons field. We wil be back as this is one of our very favourite sites. It is wonderful to be able to walk down the river bank and into Salisbury and to have such a great market and good shops. Thank you all so much

Excellent campsite which sits beneath the fort of Old Sarum. Easy walk along the river into Salisbury. Friendly stewards who keep the site beautifully clean and tidy.
