A super hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious dining room that overlooks the river. You can also sit and dine by the river. There are punting trips that can be booked from here at certain times. The menu is varied and the food is delicious. There is also a small lounge with an original fire place. This place is to be found in the old part of town which has some amazing buildings and overlooks fields on the river bank. Open to non residents and dogs allowed outside on the terrace.
A decent hotel. The room given to us was ok as it was not in the main block. Had breakfast included in the rate however when you go for breakfast you are told that you have to pay additional for hot breakfast... Facing such a situation for the first time. Wasn't worth it anyways. The room is good and gives you a rustic and modern feel at the same time. All in all an average stay.

Another great Premier Inn. Spacious and clean room as usual and great value for money on a saver rate. We were able to take our bikes in the room too. The only problem was that instead of twin beds there was a double but a quick request to the receptionist and that was sorted.
Excellent stay. Room was well kitted out and spotless. Shower was one of the most powerful I have had the pleasure of using. We will definitely use this hotel again. We were in the separate annex which did look newer than the main building. Breakfast was in the pub next door and was spot on, only criticism was that the buffet breakfast was a little cold but that seems to be normal wherever I go. Toasters were as slow as watching paint dry! Would of preferred a fresh hot water supply for my cup of tea rather than a flask.

A historic Inn in the center of Salisbury. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is traditional British and more than enough to keep you happy. The rooms are all different, so you have to pay attentuon to what you request if you do an online reservation. I've stayed here many times and will return again and again for future visits. While it is not a five star luxury hotel, it more than satisfies almost every travel need. Everything of interest is in walking distance, so you can't go wrong at this Inn.
Very helpful staff hotel a little dated but is governed by English heritage so restricted on what can be improved. We enjoyed our stay and it is so handy if city centre and cathedral. Thank you white hart.

For all those London Hipster-Types who claim to know where to find the best burger and then wind up in - Gourmet Burger (who will never serve you a 'blue' burger) or worse Byron (who claim to serve 'proper burgers' and yet will also not serve you a 'blue' burger or even The Rare Burger Company (who despite their false advertising name will also not serve you a 'blue' burger - The Boathouse is your awakening. Not only do they grind their own mince (an essential health and safety requirement if you want to cook your burgers to order) but they will also happily make you the rarest of rare (think steak tartar) burgers. Make sure you are emphatically clear with the bartender (or the chef will think you meant medium rare) just say you want your burger raw and you will send it back if it's not. That way your blue burger will arrive perfectly prepared and without one single hypocritical hipster in sight.
Had the pleasure of coming to this place while on vacation. The San Miguel on tap was always crisp and cold. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Bartender was funny, you can talk to her all day.

Nice bar with sunny garden. Our lunch was tasty and a good range of choices including for the teenagers. Serving a range of Wadsworth ales. IPA and 6X were good. Oddly were only accepting cash when we were there, but did offer a 20% discount on food if you'd parked over the road.
Had my 53rd birthday at the wig and Quill tonight and I have to say the pub and the restaurant were fantastic. The food came out hot and on time being that we had 10 guests. The staff couldn't have helped us any more than what they did. The staff were so polite and helpful down to the last detail. We give a 5 star rating and highly rate the Wig & QUILL. Thankyou for making my evening exceptional. Sarah x

I'm not sure whether they've recently had a change of owner or chef but I've changed my original review for the better. On my recent visit I was very impressed! A charming city pub/restaurant with great food. My Ham, Egg and Chips was outstanding, good portion size with lovely quality, thickly sliced ham. A cosy and comfortable pub with very great staff and dog friendly.
This is a really nice pub I have popped in on several occasions, and the welcome has been friendly. There is a good range of beers and wines, and the ambience is quietly pleasant. There is nothing super special, it's just a really decent pub. What more do you need. I have now reduced my rating of this pub by 1 star. I visited today at 2.15 pm, and was told, (very politely), that the kitchen was closed, and that lunch was not available. Most pubs close their kitchens at 3pm. Disappointed.

Clean comfortable and in easy reach of the center.
I stayed at Byways for three weeks. It was excellent value and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating throughout. The breakfast was substantial, cereals with yoghurt etc or full English or S/Salmon and Scrambled egg. (No supplementary £3). I would highly recommend if you're in Salisbury for the weekend or working during the week. Plenty of parking. Discounts as well if you're staying for a while.

Very nice rooms with a great view over the valley. Sweet owners who add a personal touch to the experience. On close driving distance from Salisbury, Stonehenge and Old Sarum. Quiet place with big bedrooms and compact bathroom.
Good food, great room, comfortable bed, nice hosts

Lovely location. Good clean rooms. Good breakfast. Had a great stay.
Wonderful little place - close to the city and absolutely fantastic food! Instantly I was felt made welcome into their home (normally I get a bit tweaked at B&B's, feeling like I'm intruding into someone else's home). My welcome was warm felt and courteous. Both Nat and Helen are extremely warm, polite and very friendly. Breakfasts here are AMAZING. Though I ordered the 'full monty', having the stomach for the 'not so full monty' and feeling horrible about not finishing it all - the food was perfecto! Even the plate presentation was top notch and showed me they both love what they do - always important to the traveler. The rooms are comfy and extremely clean - Beds are absolutely perfect for my back with a plush down comforter and supporting pillows. IMHO - if you are coming to SAL for any reason, this is THE place to stay. Even if it's your first B&B (this is my first experience in the UK with B&Bs) - there is likely no better place.

We spent one night here. Room and ensuite were spotless, towels white and fluffy and Natasha welcoming. Only disadvantage is that parking spaces are limited, but we coped. We would recommend staying here.
My daughter and I loved our stay. Natasha couldn't of done more. Will be staying next year.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Apart from the other camper who drove over the washing line and never owned up its a fab site. So convenient for town. Staff are enthusiastic, funny and hugely welcoming.
Hi Just had a fantastic time again at this lovely site. Busy of course over the Bank Holiday but so peaceful on Monday. Staff could not be more helpful and the dog had a glorious time n Hudsons field. We wil be back as this is one of our very favourite sites. It is wonderful to be able to walk down the river bank and into Salisbury and to have such a great market and good shops. Thank you all so much
